Job Description
| Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, the New Item & SKU Rationalization Project Leader acts as a bridge between operations and sales and is responsible for coordinating various concurrent projects to deliver new product introductions and changes to existing product portfolio. They coordinate the execution of internal company activities related to the introduction of new products and the continuous rationalization of finished products. They lead the birth and death of a product / line of products.
Major Responsibilities
New Item Introduction
Leads the execution of new product (item) initiatives for the company including:
Builds and drives each project timeline and communicates changes to that timeline cross-company (Sales, Purchasing, Supply Chain, R&D, Quality, Finance, Manufacturing).
Single-point of contact to overcome obstacles during the process
Manages / escalates issues to manager
Continuously improves the new item process to bring items to the shelf faster
SKU Rationalization
Coordinates and executes the company's quarterly SKU rationalization process including:
Gathers the data quarterly for SKUs performing under the minimum criteria
Collaborates with Technical Services to determine alternate formulas / sizes for non-performing SKUs
Communicates non-performing SKUs to Sales reps to initiate decision-making process
Escalates exceptions about non-performing SKUs to senior management
Communicates & updates systems with decisions
Leads the process cross-company through the end of the product life (i.e. running out materials and finished product)

Experience/Education
Required
| Requirements
Associates Degree (or equivalent experience) / Bachelors Degree preferred
Minimum 3 years experience managing a supply chain analytical role or significant project management
Intermediate Excel experience
Prior experience leading a SKU rationalization process and product life cycle is preferred
Proven experience working effectively across organizations such as within Sales, Purchasing, Finance and Manufacturing
Proven project management, fact-finding and root cause analysis capabilities
Experience with the Supply Chain module of an ERP system
MS Projects experience a plus
